Proceeds from this workshop go directly to supporting the Takayna Rainforest in Tasmania. The artist Bianca Hoffrichter will be embarking on a 5 day artist in residence program in April and participating in an exhibition in Tasmania to support ongoing conservation efforts for the last major rainforest ecosystem currently under threat.

This workshop aims to connect us with nature and provide a friendly, relaxing, supported environment to explore watercolour. You might have some experience or no experience! Everyone is welcome. Bianca will be there to provide guidance and advice as needed.

All materials will be supplied during the sessions but you are welcome to also bring anything you enjoy working with or are familiar with. There will be an outdoor option held at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, another at Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, and an indoor option at the Rundle Collective Studios for those needing an accessible indoor location. Indoor sessions will include live plants for inspiration. Abstract painters are still welcome to attend and be inspired by their surroundings!

This workshop will include:

  • Guidance through sketching nature

  • Mixing natural colours and creating colour samples

  • Creating a composition from nature

This workshop is for people who want to paint things that look like things, or who want to feel more confident using that art journal that has been sitting on the shelf for a while …

Silk Painting Workshop - Wearable Art Scarf or Tie
$120.00

This workshop aims to show you how to use your love of watercolour in new ways to create timeless silk wearables. While it would be helpful to have a basic understanding of watercolour this is not a requirement as we will help you through each step of the process. We will focus on free-form painting in this session (not spending a lot of time on batik or gutta resist but we will discuss these as well) - this means you will likely be creating stunning colours and flowing abstract effects in the session. However, if you would like to dedicate time to learning how to draw pictures and lines on silk please reach out to us for a private booking instead!

We will cover how to prepare your silk by stretching it onto a frame, and discuss different techniques or mediums you can use to achieve different effects. You will get a choice of either a silk tie or silk scarf to paint - perfect for a unique item to add to your wardrobe or as a gift for a special someone! The techniques in our session can also be applied to painting on silk fabric which can be turned into a wall hanging or framed mounted canvas artwork as well if you so choose.

This workshop will include a take home kit of:

  • Case

  • Silk Scarf or Tie (painted by you!)

Private Lessons - Watercolour & Art
from $69.00

If you would rather have one on one support with artist Bianca Hoffrichter to help extend your individual art practice this is the best option for tailored support. Private Lessons can be tailored to exactly what you would like to work on with guidance from an experienced mentor to help you through challenges you might be experiencing or to extend your technical skills. Materials will be provided during sessions but it is also important to continue building skills with the supplies and tools you will be continually using.

Private lessons can be customised as ongoing regular sessions over a period of time with goals for each session, or just on a casual basis depending on your preference. These sessions can be hosted at the Rundle Collective Studios or by negotiation the artist may be able to travel to your site. Please discuss this directly with the artist as extensive travel may incur a small travel fee (distance dependent).

If you want to learn how to take your artworks to professional level gallery hanging and presentation, learn how to start selling your work, or explore new possibilities we can help you with this as well! Bianca has been exhibiting and creating professionally for over 10 + years with major exhibitions and projects internationally but also working closely with Australian art networks.
