Workshops
@ the Rundle Collective studios
The Rundle Collective is an artist studio based in Rundle Mall - in Gawler Place. It is a welcoming accessible place for all creatives! We run our workshops at this venue in their private event spaces on level 2 and 3.
See below for workshop types and dates of upcoming workshops.
Bookings can be made through the booking links on Humanitix or reach out for a custom or private booking to the artist directly on +61 459 946 479.
Our workshops all have the following:
a commitment to accessibility and a welcoming environment
all materials needed included in the session
take home materials so you can keep creating (or a wearable piece for silk painting)
a focus on your personal style or the way of painting that is going to bring you joy!
This workshop covers everything you need to get started painting confidently with water colour. We will cover the basic materials and what you need to achieve great results, as well as where you can save some money on your set up. But you will take home everything you need to get painting as well as the knowledge to get past the major problems faced by beginner painters. This workshop covers the foundations of colour mixing and how to use artist quality paints to achieve beautiful results. Open to absolute beginners but of course also anyone who wants to refresh their skills!
This workshop shows you that you can paint water colour on just about anything if you are creative enough to try! We cover a wide range of materials, mediums, and surfaces that can be used with water colours without you needing to spend money on expensive materials to sample at home! This workshop is great if you want to extend your current painting style with new possibilities, and suits abstract style painters really well! But it is also great for if you want to explore new possibilities with your watercolour sketches or journalling as well. We encourage people to bring their experimental energy to this session.
This workshop delves into how to create wearable art through silk painting. Take home a unique creation from this session as a silk scarf or tie as well as all of the knowledge you need to paint more wearable creations. This session teaches you how to transfer your water colour skills on to fabric in free form painting (this is not focused on batik or gutta resist techniques although we will touch on this). Generally it is recommended to have a little understanding of water colour basics but this is not a requirement for the workshop.
